About me

I first came to acupuncture as a young adult, when I was living with a chronic condition. I remember how much of a difference it made, not just to my symptoms, but to my overall sense of well-being. This led me to continue with regular monthly treatments as a way to stay well, and over time acupuncture simply became part of my life.

My experience as a patient inspired me to go on and train as an acupuncturist. I studied for three years and qualified in 1995, and I’ve continued learning ever since. I still regularly study alongside practitioners from around the world, which helps me keep my practice thoughtful, up to date, and responsive to the people I work with.

I have always valued being part of my local community and have offered acupuncture support in Tooting for more than 30 years.  This led me to practice acupuncture within the NHS, and voluntary organisations, as well as private practice.

Over the years, I’ve taken on additional roles that feel important to me including teaching and participating in professional groups.  I have extensive training in fertility and pregnancy acupuncture and was a founder member of ACT London.  I am a qualified supervisor for acupuncturists with more than 25 years of experience and was recently in the team who set up our national Mentoring and Supervision Network. I’m also a member of Backcare.

Alongside my clinical work, I’m an active volunteer at an acupuncture service for refugees and asylum seekers at JRS in East London. This work continues to shape how I think about care, particularly the importance of creating a space where people feel safe and supported.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and adhere to its Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct. I am registered with many UK insurers, including AXA, Aviva, Vitality and SAGA.
